My resume consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Missouri – Columbia (Go Mizzou Tigers!), nearly five years of experience as a legal assistant, specializing in collections and personal injury, and, of course, my writing experience.

My professional writing career started with four posts a week for the Small Business Buzz in October of 2006, in addition to my full-time job as a legal assistant. When my first son was born in February of 2008, I wanted nothing more than to stay home with him. I chose, therefore, to utilize my writing skills and become a work-from-home guru! While my experience has been pretty vast since then (you can see all of my work on my Portfolio page), For three years I was the CEO/writer/head editor of a content marketing company called Ink’d Content; which closed in April 2014 in order for my business partner and I to focus on other pursuits. I’ve also always had several private clients, including magazine publications – all while balancing a photography business, running a non-profit that I founded, and a full life with two little boys and an amazing husband!

As anyone can see from my writing portfolio, I have experience writing on a broad range of topics and I am willing to tackle practically anything.

I excel in the area of research. Nearly every writing position I’ve maintained since I began my freelance career in October 2006 has required research to provide a strong factual base for the content I produce. In fact, many of my previous and current writing contracts require proof of adequate resources in order to verify information. My social skills also come in handy when conducting interviews.

I also have premium experience with creating content that maximizes search engine optimization (SEO). In other words, whether it’s articles, blog posts or simple web page content, I can easily include the necessary key terms and variations to help your website obtain the best search engine results possible. I also work with my clients to keep SEO quality high by arranging for content updates on a regular basis.I’m also well connected through online social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I frequently post the articles I write for my private clients as a means to bring in more traffic to their websites, as well as make my writing style and expertise known to the public.
